Dear IA music students and families,

As you are aware we have lost Mr. Ash as our great music teacher to his own high school music program. He has always hoped that he would be able to go back and make that program great. While this is a big loss for us, we have the potential of gaining another great teacher in the next few days and we need your help!!

The IA has selected 4 teaching candidates to fill the open teaching position. We need you, as music students and parents to join in the interview process. The candidates will need a band to conduct and an audience to evaluate next week, Wednesday, August 8. The candidates will begin working with the band at 9am however, we need to have as many band students as possible to give us feedback. IA East will also be sending over musicians to assist our process.

If you are interested in performing for this ensemble, you will need to be at IA on Wednesday from 8:30am to about 12pm with your instrument. You will be sight reading a work with each of the teaching candidates and we will ask you to evaluate each of them at the end of the day.

Any music student (Band, Orchestra, Choir and IB Music) or music parent is welcome to watch the rehearsal and give feedback about the candidate. I cannot express this enough that we want the best possible candidate to be our music teacher well into the future and we need your help!

-If you can join us on Wednesday, August 8 at 8:30am, please reply to me swolf@bloomfield.org with your name and instrument.

-If you would like to watch the interviews and give feedback, please reply to me swolf@bloomfield.org with the ensemble you represent.

-If you are a music parent, please reply to Mrs. Martin madformaui@comcast.net

I look forward to hearing from as many people as possible!

Thank you for your help and dedication to a great music program,

Mr. Wolf
